Misafir Odası etkinlikleri, Başak Özkutlu’yu konuk ettiği ilk sergisi sonrası, İzmir’li genç sanatçılar Bahar Oğaner ve Halil Vurucuoğlu’nun ortak projesi ile devam ediyor. Projenin bu ayağı ilk sergiden farklı olarak, bu iki genç sanatçının kişisel üretimlerini, izleyicilere, yapıtları birbirlerinden ayırmaksızın açık bir alan dahilinde sunacak.

Genellikle “birey, gündelik hayat, kent,sokak” üzerinden hareketle, kendi varoluşlarını sanat üretimlerini bu iletişim bölgesi üzerinden kuran, çalışmalarındaki görselliği bu bölgelere odaklayan iki farklı kişinin ortak olarak sunulduğu bir sergi hedeflenmekte.Tıpkı Sokaktaki, kolektif, karmaşık ve bütünüyle kabul edip içerisinde bulunduğumuz yapıda olduğu gibi.

Sergi kentli olma durumu ve şehir yaşantısını, hayatımızı sürdürdüğümüz şehir (lokal ) üzerinden, genele (evrensel anlamda) “kent” kavramına, sadece uzlaşmacı açıdan bakmadan, negatif ve sorunlu yönlerini de es geçmeden odaklanıyor. Amaç, izleyiciyi, temiz, steril galeri mekanında, bu gürültülü yapıya, iki genç sanatçının vizyonu dahilinde tanık etmek. Bu şekilde de sanatçıların yönlendirmeleriyle sayesinde kent ve günlük yaşam pratiklerini İzmir izleyicisine yeniden hatırlatmayı amaçlıyor. Sergi ile gerçekleşecek ilk buluşma sonrasında, 30 Kasım 2006 tarihinde yapılacak sanatçı söyleşisi ile de sanatçıların açtığı aralıktan bu konu üzerinde gereken tartışmayı başlatmayı hedefliyor.

“Misafir Odası Projesi”, güncel sanatın İzmir çapında disiplinler arası sınırlama getirmeksizin sunumlarına olanak vermek adına AKM ile ortak geliştirilmiş bir projedir. Bu kapsamda mekan, fotoğraf sanatından, video çalışmalara, resim sanatının güncel örneklerine, çizimden, enstalasyona kadar vizyonu olabildiğince açık ve dinamik bir yapının ev sahipliğini hedeflemektedir.

After the first exhibition with Başak Özkutlu, Guest Room carries on with the collaborative project of the artists Bahar Oganer and Halil Vurucuoğlu. Unlike the first exhibition, this episode of the project presents the works of these two young artists together within an open venue.

The second project of the Guest Room aims to gather these two different artists, who mainly focuses on “individual, everyday life, city ad streets” in their works. The exhibition offers a construction as in the daily life, the complexity, collectivity and the cacaphony of the streets of the streets.

The exhibition points out the notion of “city” through varios means, such as the local, the common and global concerning the negative and the positive senses as well. The project confronts the audience with these issues in the white and strile venue of the gallery space throug the visions of these two artists.

After the exhibition, the artists will talk about their practices and the means of aproaching the city in the contemporary.

“The Guest Room Project”, which is a collaborative event with AKM, aims to create an open platform for young cotemporary artists to present and to discuss about their practices.

K2 Kasım ayı sanatçı konuşmalarına 3 misafir sanatçı ile devam ediyor:

Şu an Bilgi universitesinin sağladığı misafir sanatçı programı ile Türkiye'de bulunmakta olan Danimarkalı sanatçı Christian Hillesø, IASPIS / Garanti Platform Güncel sanat merkezi misafir sanatçı programı ile İstanbul'da bulunan, aynı zamanda Platform Galeri'de gectigimiz ay
sergilenen "Hepimiz Kristof Kolomb' a güldük" adlı serginin
katılımcısı Runo Lagomarsino(İsveç) ile Kristina Ask (Kopenhag) sanatçı ve yazar.
Sanatçılar hem kendi çalışmaları hem de Kuzey Avrupa'daki Güncel Sanat pratikleri ve eğilimler konularında bilgi verecekler.

Matthias Schamp, Max Sudhues, Heike Weber

MATTHIAS SCHAMP

Matthias Schamp, born in 1964, studied art history and philosophy at the Ruhr University in Bochum from 1982-1991. From 1991-1996, he was publisher of the ‘NON(+)ULTRA Zeitschrift für syntaktische Konfusion’ and from 1995-1996 one of the ideagivers and manager of a 14-part event series in Kunsthaus Essen. A lectureship took him to the Bauhaus University in Weimar in 2003. Matthias Schamp has been awarded various prizes, he received the Special Prize of the Gladbeck City in the W.-Zimolong competition in 1993 and the Process Organization Prize awarded by the Art Seminar of the Independent College in Metzingen in 1998. In the same year, he gave a guest performance within the scope of a scholarship at the Artists Village Schöppingen, further scholarship took him, for example, as Artist in Residence at the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art, to Sunderland (UK) in 2000 and the Artists’ House Kloster Cismar in Schleswig-Holstein in 2004

MAX SUDHUES

Max Sudhues was born in Münster in 1977. He studied Free Art at the Academy of Arts in Münster from 1999-2005 and was Master Class Student under Prof. Timm Ulrichs. He completed a guest term under Thomas Bayrle at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main in 2002/2003. In 2002, he was guest artist in Reykjavík within the scope of a European scholarship from the Academy of Arts in Münster. In addition to a sponsorship for a period abroad from the NRW Art Foundation in 2006, post graduate studies at the HISK (Hoger Instituut voor Schone Kunsten) will take him to Antwerp until 2007. In 2005 Max Sudhues has received two awards, he received the ‘Tim-und-Struppi’ prize and was an award winner of the 17th national ‘Art Students Exhibit’ (Kunststudenten stellen aus) competiton, in the Art and Exhibition Hall of Germany in Bonn. Max Sudhues lives and works in Münster and Antwerp.

HEIKE WEBER

Heike Weber was born in Siegen in 1962. She started her Design studies at the Aachen University of applied sciences in 1981 and graduated in 1986. In 1993, she accepted an invitation to work as an Artist in Residence at the Glasgow School of Art where she also worked as a guest lecturer in 1994. This was followed by a number of scholarships in Germany and abroad, first at the Research Institute for Inter-Culture in Seoul (Korea) in 1997 and at Haus Lukas in Ahrenshoop in 1998. A work scholarship of the Bonn Art Fund 2001 was followed by a scholarship of the state of North Rhine Westphalia (NRW) at Schloss Ringenberg in 2002 and a work scholarship of the NRW Art Foundation in 2003. In 2004, she first accepted a scholarship of the Barkenhoff Foundation at the artists’ houses of Worpswede and thereafter was Artist in Residence guest of the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas (USA). Further scholarships took her to Casa Baldi in Olevano Romano (Italy) in 2005 and to the North Rhine Westphalian Artists’ Village Schöppingen in 2006.

Transfer Uluslararası Sanat ve Sanatçı Değişim Programı

Transfer projesi, 1990 yılından beri uluslarası bir sanat ve sanatçı değişim programı olarak KRV Kültür sekreterliği tarafından değişik partner ülkeler ve değişik kültür kurumlarıyla KRV'de düzenlenmektedir. İsrail, İspanya'nın bazı bölgeleri ve Polonya ile yapılan üç Transfer projesinden sonra, 2005 yılında başlayıp bir kaç yıl sürecek olan bu uluslararası işbirliği projesinin merkezinde şimdi Türkiye bulunmaktadır.

KRV'dan Ludwig Forum Aachen, Bochum Müzesi ve Münster Çağdaş Sanatlar Müzesi; Türkiye'den ise Bilgi Üniversitesi ile bu üniversiteye ait yeni bir kültür merkezi olan santral-istanbul'un partner olarak katıldığı Transfer projesi, Türkiye'deki Goethe Enstitüleri ve İstanbul Kültür ve Sanat Vakfı tarafından da desteklenmektedir. Ayrıca Ankara, İzmir ve Diyarbakır gibi Türkiye'nin diğer şehirlerinde de etkinlikler planlanmaktadır.

Aralık 2005'te partner kurumların da katılımıyla her iki ülkeden oluşan bir jüri, 100'deb fazla başvuruyu değerlendirerek Türkiye ve Almanya'da yedişer sanatçıyı seçmek üzere bir araya geldi.

Tüm sanatçıların Mart 2006'da KRV'ya gerçekleştirdikleri kısa bir ziyaret ve katıldıkları toplntılardan sonra Türkiye'li sanatçılar 2006 Haziran ve Temmuz aylarında Kuzey Ren Vestfalya'nın partner şehirlerinde çalışma amaçlı aklmak üzere davet edildiler.

Kuzey ren Vestfalya'lı sanatçılar 2006 Ekim ve Kasım aylarında Türkiye'deki partner şehirlere gidecekler.

Küratörlerin(Türkiye'de Şubat 2007, Almanya'da Mart 2007) gerçekleştirecekleri atölye gezilerinden sonra sanatçıların eserleri büyük sergilerde gösterime sunulacaktır: Eylül 2007'den Kasım 2007'ye kadar KRV'da, Aralık 2007'den Ocak 2008'e kadar Türkiye'de. Bu yaratıcı değişim programı ayrıca bir katalogda belgesel şeklinde sunulacaktır.

Tüm bunlara ek olarak yerel sanat dernekleri, yüksek okullar ve diğer kültür kurumlarıyla verimli bir işbirliği çerçevesinde başka etkinlikler de düzenlenecektir.

Transfer The International Art and Artists Exchange Program

Transfer is an international art and artists exchange program organized by the NRW KULTURsekretariat (Cultural Secretariat of North Rhine-Westphalia) since 1990 in collaboration with changing partner countries and particular culture partners in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 2005 the focus of this multi-year international cooperation project is on Turkey.

Participating in North Rhine-Westphalia are Ludwig Forum in Aachen, Museum Bochum and Münster Gallery for Contemporary Art. As partners on the Turkish side, in Istanbul, Istanbul Bilgi University and its new cultural site Santral Istanbul are involved. Transfer is also supported by the Turkish Goethe Institutes and Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts. Small-scale events are planned in other Turkish cities like Ankara, Izmir and Diyarbakir.

In December 2005, the binational Jury and the partner institutions met in Istanbul in order to select seven artists from Turkey and Germany from over 100 applicants.

After a short welcoming and the presentation of the selected artists in North Rhine-Westphalia in March 2006, the selected Turkish artists were invited for an artist residency from June to July 2006 in the participating North Rhine-Westphalian cities.

The North Rhine-Westphalian artists are residing in the Turkish partner cities in October and November 2006.

After the studio visits of the curators have taken place (February 2007 in Turkey, March 2007 in Germany) works of all artists will subsequently be shown in large exhibitions: from September to November 2007 in North Rhine Westphalia and from December 2007 to January 2008 in Turkey. A catalogue will document the creative exchange process.

Supplementary cultural events have also been scheduled – in productive cooperation with local art associations, universities and cultural institutions.
